Christy, Gwendy, and I went to Life Church for a Power Lab training day.
Group has these networking parties all over the U.S.
Last year we had to go to Gadsden, this year just across the street.
Very convenient!
Anyways, we were a part of the largest networking party in the U.S.
I'm pretty sure there were over 100 people in attendance.
It was fun to meet other people doing Power Lab VBS.
It was also nice to do some of the crafts, participate in a Bible story, and sing our theme song.
All in all it was a helpful and encouraging day for me and I'm glad we went.
Sunday was an even more encouraging day.
If you didn't get to hear Dr. Timothy George, I encourage you to listen on line.
(UM...I say that assuming it is on line. I'm sure it will be!)
Dr. George talked about growing up impoverished and on the "wrong side of the tracks".
But through God's providence and hand of mercy on his life, Godly men where put into position throughout his life that pointed him to the Gospel.
It encouraged me that we don't have any clue what call God may have on one of the kids that attend our VBS, but God does, and He has a plan to use us as His imperfect people to further His kingdom. We may not see the fruits today or tomorrow or even this year, but God is not confined to time or our selfish need to see immediate results.
You know, he even mentioned remembering VBS!
I wouldn't doubt it though, that man has an amazing memory.
So let that be an encouragement to all of us to be diligent in our proclaiming the Gospel to the next generation. Remember to be in prayer not just for our upcoming VBS, but for our Awana program, and Children's Church, and Sunday School...all of these segments of our Church that are in one way or another, pointing our kids to Christ.
As a Mom raising my own two little ones, prayerfully, in the Lord...I think I speak for all parents of young ones out there when we say 'Thank you for reaching out and trying to have an impact on our children".
We may not always see the fruits of our labor, but we can rest in the fact that God is Omniscient(all knowing) and He will bring forth the fruits in there due time.
Looking forward to the upcoming days of planning and praying with all of you!
